Loungin'
Anthony and I showed up ridiculously early for our flight, because we
needed to be on a conference call for another client at 8:30 am. So we
met at 7:30 for a noon flight.
That means lots of time in the Red Carpet Lounge in SFO's International
Terminal.
Think college library study carrels, but with free drink coupons and
more power outlets. Bruce Sterling called unauthorized power outlet
usage the cattle rustling of the 21st century; I think he's right. But
the Red Carpet Room in the airport's about the only place where you're
downright encouraged to plug in your laptop and phone. Even with his
wireless Internet access and wireless Verizon phone, Anthony was
plugged in twice: once to provide power to his laptop, once to his
phone.
